Learning Paths › Market

This learning path is for market-facing users who need to organize and review market accounts, clients, principals, registrations, suppliers, and projects. After completing it, learners will be able to navigate the Market workspace, work from the appropriate record context, connect daily market activity to accounts and projects, and perform structured reviews of registrations and supplier-related information.

Learning objectives

  • By the end of this path you can identify the appropriate Market screen for clients, principals, registrations, projects, and account records.
  • By the end of this path you can review a market account from the account list through its Market record.
  • By the end of this path you can use client and principal information to establish the right context for market work.
  • By the end of this path you can review registrations and projects as part of ongoing market activity.
  • By the end of this path you can perform periodic reviews using account manager, principal, registration, and sub-supplier views.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Market app.
  • Permission to view and, where required, maintain market accounts and related records.
  • Familiarity with the business meaning of clients, principals, registrations, sub-suppliers, and projects in your organization.
  • Awareness of which account or market relationship you are responsible for reviewing.

Module 1: Establish the market account foundation

Goal: Learn how to begin with the Market overview and reach the account-level record used as the foundation for market work.

Lesson 1.1: Start with the Market portfolio

You need to understand the overall set of market items before focusing on one account. Begin in All to review the available market context, then use accounts when your work needs to focus specifically on accounts. Use the account context to decide which record requires attention.

Practice: Open All, then move to accounts and identify one account you would review.

Lesson 1.2: Review a specific Market record

When you have identified an account that needs attention, use its market record rather than relying only on the account list. Start from accounts, select the relevant account context, and review the associated Accounts. Use this record as the focused workspace for the account’s market information.

Practice: Choose an account from accounts and open its Accounts for review.

Module 2: Build the relationship context

Goal: Use client and principal records to understand who is involved in a market relationship before acting on related work.

Lesson 2.1: Work from the client perspective

When a market question begins with a customer-facing relationship, begin with the client record. Open Clients to locate the relevant client context, then use that context to determine which market account or related activity should be reviewed next.

Practice: Open Clients and identify a client whose market relationship you need to understand.

Lesson 2.2: Review the principal relationship

When work concerns the party represented in the market relationship, use the principal records. Begin in Principals to locate the appropriate principal, then use Principals to review principals in a broader working view. This helps you distinguish principal-focused work from client-focused work.

Practice: Review a principal in Principals and then open Principals to compare its broader context.

Module 3: Manage daily market activity

Goal: Connect ongoing registrations and project work to the appropriate market relationships.

Lesson 3.1: Review registrations that require market attention

When you need to assess registration-related work, start with the registrations area. Use Registrations to locate the registration context, then open Registrations view to review registrations in a consolidated working view. Use the client, principal, and account context you established earlier to interpret what you see.

Practice: Open Registrations, then review the same type of work in Registrations view.

Lesson 3.2: Relate market work to projects

When a market relationship leads to delivery, sales, or coordinated work, review the related project context. Open Projects and use the project information alongside the relevant account, client, principal, or registration context. This keeps project activity aligned with the market relationship it supports.

Practice: Open Projects and identify a project you would connect to a market account review.

Module 4: Perform periodic portfolio reviews

Goal: Use specialized views to review responsibility, supplier involvement, and relationship coverage across the market portfolio.

Lesson 4.1: Review work by account-manager responsibility

When planning a regular review of assigned market work, begin with the account-manager perspective. Open Account Manager to review the market records relevant to account-manager responsibility, then use accounts or the Accounts to investigate an individual account when needed.

Practice: Open Account Manager and select one account area that merits a deeper review.

Lesson 4.2: Include sub-supplier information in a periodic review

When a market review must consider supplier participation, use the dedicated sub-supplier view. Open Sub-supplier and assess its information alongside the related principal, registration, or account context. This helps ensure that supplier-related information is not overlooked during periodic market reviews.

Practice: Open Sub-supplier and identify one item to validate against a related market relationship.

Final assessment

  1. You have been asked to investigate a specific market account after first reviewing the wider market portfolio. Which screens should you use, in order, to move from broad context to the detailed account record?

  2. A colleague asks about a relationship that starts with a customer-facing organization rather than a represented organization. Which Market screen should you begin with, and what should you use that context to determine?

  3. You need to review market activity that has been formally registered and want a consolidated working view after locating the registration area. Which two screens should you use?

  4. During an account review, you need to understand whether related delivery or coordinated work exists. Which screen should you consult, and how should it be used with the market account context?

  5. You are completing a quarterly review of assigned market work and need to include supplier participation. Which specialized views should you use, and what does each contribute?

Answers

  1. AllaccountsAccounts. Why: this sequence moves from portfolio context to an account-focused list and then to the detailed record.

  2. **Begin with **Clients. Why: it provides the client context from which you can determine the related market account or activity to review.

  3. **Registrations and **Registrations view. Why: the first establishes the registration context and the second supports consolidated review.

  4. Use Projects. Why: project information should be reviewed alongside the relevant market account, client, principal, or registration context.

  5. Use Account Manager and Sub-supplier. Why: the account-manager view supports responsibility-based review, while the sub-suppliers view brings supplier participation into that review.
