Activity Purpose — Configurations › General Settings › Activity Purpose

Overview

Use Activity Purpose to maintain the purpose categories available for activities. Administrators configure these categories when the organization needs to add or maintain standardized activity purposes, such as project-related, marketing, or technical activities.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the application.
  • Ensure that you can access Configurations, General Settings, and Activity Purpose.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Configurations > General Settings > Activity Purpose.

  2. Review the existing Activity Purpose records to determine whether the required purpose is already configured. The page lists configured activity-purpose entries.

  3. Select New to begin creating an Activity Purpose record.

  4. Complete the required entries in the new record form and save the record using the available form action.

Warning: For the entry that applies character validation, use only underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).

Note: Complete all entries identified as required before saving the Activity Purpose record.

Troubleshooting

  • The New action is unavailable or the Activity Purpose page cannot be opened → Your account may not have access to the configuration area → Sign in with an account that has access to Configurations > General Settings > Activity Purpose.

  • A value is rejected during entry → The value may contain characters that are not accepted by the validated entry → Use only underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.) where character validation applies.

  • The record cannot be saved → One or more required entries may be incomplete → Complete all required entries and save again.

Result

A new Activity Purpose record is prepared for configuration.
