Overview

Warehouse Product Types is the Warehouse Settings list used to review and maintain the product-type records available to the Warehouse team. Warehouse and inventory managers use this page when they need to locate an existing product type, start a new record, review the available list, or export the current results.

Use this page before relying on a product type in Warehouse-related work. The visible list includes product-type records such as storable products and pump-related product types.

Settings

Open the Warehouse Product Types list from Warehouse > Configurations > Warehouse Settings > Warehouse Product Types.

The available screen provides a Settings (icn icn-settings) action, but no individual Warehouse Product Type configuration fields are exposed in the supplied screen. Use the settings action only when you need to access the settings available to your user account; do not assume that it changes the selected product-type record.

Note: The supplied view does not show product-type detail fields or a save action. Therefore, this page documents the available list actions without assigning meanings to fields that are not displayed.

Before working with the list, ensure that you can sign in with an authorized user account. If the login prompt is displayed, enter your credentials in Enter User Name and Enter Password, then select Login.

Workflow

  1. Open the Warehouse Product Types list from Warehouse > Configurations > Warehouse Settings > Warehouse Product Types. If the system displays the login screen, complete Enter User Name and Enter Password, then select Login.

  1. Decide whether you need to review an existing product type or start a new one.

    • To review existing records, remain on the list and use the search and filter controls described in the next step.
    • To begin a new Warehouse Product Type record, select New. This starts the new-record action. Complete only the fields and confirmation actions presented in the subsequent screen, as those fields are not shown in the available Warehouse Product Types capture.
    • To leave an unfinished action, select Cancel when that action is available.
  2. When you need to find a specific product type, enter a relevant search value in Search, then select Apply filter. Review the resulting list to confirm that the required product-type record is included.

Use a concise, distinguishing value when possible. For example, use a product-type name or a relevant part of the name rather than an unrelated warehouse term.

Tip: Apply the filter before starting a new record. This helps avoid creating a duplicate when the required product type already exists in the list.

  3. When the filtered results are displayed, decide whether the current list is sufficient for your task.

    • If the record you need is visible, review it in the list and continue with the relevant Warehouse activity.
    • If you need to change the list or refresh the available information, use Update (icn-update). The supplied screen identifies this as an update action but does not expose its detailed effect.
    • If no matching record is found, select New to start a new product-type record.
  4. When you need to share, archive, or analyse the displayed results outside the application, select Export. Export only after applying the required search or filter so that the output reflects the list you intend to use.

  5. If an on-screen confirmation is displayed for an action, select Ok to acknowledge it. Use Cancel instead when you do not want to continue with the current action.

Warning: Do not use Ok as a substitute for reviewing the filtered list. Confirm that the displayed records match your intended search before exporting or starting a new record.

Examples

A Warehouse manager needs to confirm whether a product type for a dosing pump is already available before beginning Warehouse work for a new job.

  1. The manager opens Warehouse > Configurations > Warehouse Settings > Warehouse Product Types.

  2. In Search, the manager enters
    Pump Dosing
    and selects Apply filter.
  3. The manager reviews the filtered results and confirms that the relevant pump product type is already listed. Because a matching record is present, the manager does not select New.

  4. The manager selects Export to produce an output containing the filtered list for review with the Purchasing or PM team.

  5. If a confirmation message is shown after the export action, the manager selects Ok. The review is complete because the required product type was found and the filtered result was exported.

Tips

Tip: Use Search and Apply filter before selecting New. Searching first is the most reliable way to check whether an existing Warehouse Product Type can be used.

Note: Use Export after filtering, not before. The export action is most useful when the list on screen already contains only the records relevant to your review.

Warning: The Warehouse Product Types screen does not show the fields used to define a product type. Do not infer product-type behaviour, Stock handling, QC requirements, or Product Serial Combination rules from the list name alone.
