Overview

Product Serial Combination is a PM settings configuration used to maintain the serial combination setup available in the application. Administrators use this page when product serial combination settings must be established or updated for PM processes. Configure and save the settings before they are required by related operational records.

Before you start

Ensure that you have access to the Configurations area and the PMSettings menu. You must be able to open the Product Serial Combination page and save configuration changes.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Configurations > PMSettings > Product Serial Combination.

  2. Review the existing Product Serial Combination entries. The page displays serial component configuration information, including Serial Component Digits and Default Value.

  3. Complete the Product Serial Combination form as required for the configuration you are maintaining. The form contains three mandatory fields.

  4. Ensure that the field requiring a specific format is entered in its accepted format.

  5. Select Save to validate and store the configuration.

Tips & cautions

Note: Selecting Save validates the form. The application does not save the configuration when a required field is missing.

Warning: One field accepts only a specific format. Correct the value before saving if validation indicates that the format is invalid.

Warning: If you leave the page with unsaved changes, the application displays a warning. Save the configuration or respond to the warning before leaving the page.

Troubleshooting

  • The configuration does not save → A mandatory field is missing → Complete all three mandatory fields, then select Save.

  • A value is rejected during validation → The value does not meet the required format → Enter the value in the specific format required by the field, then select Save.

  • A warning appears when navigating away from the page → The page contains unsaved changes → Select Save to retain the changes, or respond to the warning before leaving the page.

Result

The Product Serial Combination configuration is validated and saved for use in PM settings.
