Overview

Use Dashboard Settings to create and maintain a dashboard configuration record. This form is used by operational users who need to organize dashboard content for day-to-day work across areas such as Sales, PM, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Finance. Add dashboard widgets as required, then save the record for continued use.

Note: Dashboard Settings is available from the Configuration Dashboard area.

Workflow

  1. Open Configuration Dashboard to access dashboard configuration records.

  2. Decide whether to update an existing record or create a new dashboard configuration.

    • To create a record, select Dashboard and use the available new-record view.
    • To update a record, open the required configuration record.
  3. Decide whether the dashboard requires a widget.

    • To add one, select Widget.
    • In the widget dialog, make the required selection and confirm with Ok.

  1. Decide whether to attach a supporting file.

    • Select Attach to add a file.
    • Alternatively, drag the file to the area labelled or Drop a file here.

    Tip: Add attachments only when they help users understand or maintain the dashboard configuration.

  2. Save the dashboard configuration.

    • Select Save to retain the record and continue working in the form.
    • Select Save and Close to retain the record and return from the form.

    Warning: Save the record after adding widgets or attachments so that the changes are retained.

  3. Use today when you need to return to the current date context from the dashboard view.

Examples

A sales manager creates a dashboard configuration for reviewing current activity.

  1. The manager opens Configuration Dashboard and starts a new dashboard configuration record.
  2. The manager selects Widget and confirms the required widget with Ok.
  3. The manager selects Attach and adds a supporting sales review file, or drops the file in or Drop a file here.
  4. The manager selects Save and Close to save the dashboard configuration and finish.

The saved record can then be opened later from the Dashboard area for further updates.

Tips

Tip: Use Save when you expect to add more widgets or attachments before leaving the form.

Note: Select Save and Close when the dashboard configuration is complete and no further changes are required.

Warning: If a widget dialog is open, select Ok to confirm the selection before saving the dashboard record.

Troubleshooting
