Product Types — Configurations › Company › Product Types

Overview

Product Types define the categories available for products in the application. Administrators use this configuration to review the existing Product Type records and begin defining additional product categories when the company requires them. Use this page when establishing the product categories that support sales, purchasing, warehouse, project, and finance processes.

Before you start

You must be signed in to access the Product Types configuration page.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Configurations > Company > Product Types.

  2. Review the existing Product Type records to confirm that the required product categories are available.

  3. Select New to begin defining a Product Type.

Note: Product Types can represent different kinds of items used by the business, such as product, spare-part, or service categories.

Tip: Review the existing Product Type records before selecting New to avoid creating duplicate categories.

Troubleshooting

  • You cannot access Product Types → You are not signed in → Sign in, then navigate to Configurations > Company > Product Types.
  • The required Product Type category is not listed → The category has not yet been defined → Select New to begin adding the required Product Type.

Result

The Product Types configuration page is available for reviewing existing Product Type records and starting a new Product Type definition.
