Product stages

Product stages is the reference list for the stage names used by purchasing and procurement records. Maintain the names here so the purchasing workflow can use the same stage vocabulary.

Before you start

Product stages maintenance is available only when the page's access and subscription conditions allow the list or its maintenance actions to appear.

Prerequisites

• Know the stage name you want to maintain.
• Have access to the Warehouse configuration area.
• If the subscription does not include this feature, the page shows a subscription option instead of the list.
• Edit and delete actions depend on their access conditions.
• Import and export actions depend on their separate access checks.

The list contents, initial rows, and applicable access permissions are specific to the account using the application. Work from the headers and controls that appear after the page opens.

When these conditions are in place, find the Product stages list.

Find the Product stages list

Open the Product stages page to review its list and maintenance actions.

Prerequisites

• Have access to the Warehouse configuration area.

Steps

1. Open the Product stages page.

2. Check where you landed and follow the matching instruction.

   If you see	Then
   The Product stages list	Continue to the next section.
   A different page	Open the Product stages page again.
   A page without controls	Open the Product stages page again.

   

Result: The Product stages page is open. Continue with Understand the Product stages screen.

Understand the Product stages screen

The Product stages screen is a list with one configured reader-facing field, Stage, and a popup form for maintaining that field.

Fields

The list is configured with one visible column, Stage. The other three fields support the record but do not belong in the reader-facing form. The list configuration does not declare row filtering, header filtering, or paging. The grid does not provide inline add, edit, or delete operations; use the popup actions described in Maintain Product stages.

The columns used by the shared list come from the page's saved configuration. Work from the headers visible on your list rather than expecting hidden system fields to appear as editable columns.

The list appears only when the subscription includes the feature. The New action also depends on the page's new-entry setting. The edit icon appears only with edit access, and the delete menu appears only with delete access.

Maintain Product stages

Add or edit a stage

Create a new stage or change an existing stage name from the Product stages list.

Prerequisites

• The Product stages list is open.
• The list shows New, or an edit or delete icon beside the relevant row.
• For a new entry, have the stage name ready.

Steps

1. Choose the entry you want to maintain.

   Entry	Action
   New entry	Select New to open the new-item popup.
   Existing entry	Select the control beside the relevant row that opens the edit popup.

2. In the popup, enter the stage name in Stage.

3. Select OK to submit the popup.

4. Check the entry type and follow the matching outcome.

   Entry type	Look for
   New	Data saved Successfully
   Edited	Data updated Successfully

   

To close the new-item or edit popup without submitting it, use its close icon.

Result: The application saves the new or edited stage and displays the corresponding success message.

Remove a stage

Remove a stage when it is no longer needed and the list contains more than one item.

Prerequisites

• The Product stages list is open.
• The delete action is available.
• The list contains more than one item.

Steps

1. Open the row's delete menu from the delete icon.
2. Select Delete in the confirmation menu.
3. Confirm that the item is removed and look for Data Deleted Successfully.

The delete menu also provides Cancel. Select Cancel to close the menu without deleting the item.

Result: The list no longer shows the selected stage and displays the remaining entries.

Import or export list data

Import or export list data from the toolbar above the list when the corresponding access-controlled control is available.

Prerequisites

• The Product stages list is open.
• Import or export access is available for your account.

Steps

1. Choose the action you need.

   If you need	Then
   Import list data	In the toolbar above the list, select the import control, complete the displayed import options, and look for Data Importing completed.
   Export list data	Select Export.

Result: The selected import or export flow is open, and a completed import displays Data Importing completed.

If you need another maintenance action, continue with Choose the available maintenance path.

Choose the available maintenance path

The available path depends on whether the list is included, which access checks succeed, and how many entries it contains.

Prerequisites

• The Product stages page is open.

Steps

1. Select the control named in the row for the action you need.
2. Follow the result shown in that row.

Result: You are on the maintenance path supported by the surface and list conditions shown on screen.

If a message stops the action, continue with When maintenance goes wrong.

When maintenance goes wrong

Use the message text below to choose the next action.

When you see Are you sure you want to delete this item?:

The delete confirmation menu is open. Select Delete to remove the item. Select Cancel to close the menu.

After resolving a message, continue with Know what is next.

Out of scope

The following message and flows belong to shared configuration components rather than to the Product stages entity itself.
