Overview
A warehouse configuration record holds the warehouse's identity, branch association, address, areas, inventory model, and modification history. Use it to keep the warehouse definition aligned with the warehouse work that follows.

Before you start
You edit a saved warehouse record. The record must load on a page where the subscription is included and the page is not in its not-found state. Editing actions require edit permission.
Prerequisites
- Have the warehouse record you need to review.
- Collect the warehouse display name, description, store type, administrator, branch association, and address details before changing the form.
- Have edit permission for the record.
- Know that Country, State, City, Street, and Zip-code are required only where your company configures them as mandatory.
Find and open a warehouse record
The warehouse list is the starting point for opening an existing warehouse. Select the warehouse you need from the list.
Prerequisites
- Have access to the warehouse list.
Steps
- Open the warehouse list.
- Select the row for the warehouse you want to review.
The selected record opens for review.
Result: The selected warehouse record is open for review.
Understand the warehouse screen
The edit screen combines the warehouse details form with related areas, inventory-model choices, and modification history. The areas surface is a grid; the other related surfaces are selected from tabs.

The area popup carries Name and Description. Short name, Area Admin, X position, Y position, and Z position are not part of the available area popup.
Review and save warehouse details
Review or change the warehouse identity, branch association, address, or required values.
Prerequisites
- Open the warehouse record.
- Have the values to enter for the warehouse details.
Steps

Review Display Name and Description.

Review Store type and Store Admin.

Select or clear the branch checkboxes under the warehouse's branch association.

Review Destination Title, Country, State, City, Street, and Zip-code.

Enter a value in every field marked as required on your screen.

Select one save option:

Read the message that appears after the save request.
The form uses This Field Is Required when a required value is missing. A successful save uses
Your request was completed successfully; a failed request uses An error occurred while processing your request.
Result: The warehouse details remain on screen after Save, or the page closes after Save and Close.
Maintain warehouse areas
An area is a named warehouse location represented as a row in the Areas grid. Maintain an area when the warehouse's internal locations change.
Prerequisites
- Open a saved warehouse record.
- Have edit permission.
- Select Areas.
Steps

Review the area row using Name, Short name, Description, X Position, Y Position, and Z Position.

Choose the area action you need:
If you need to… Action Add an area Select the plus icon, enter the area name in Name, enter the optional explanation in Description, and select Save in the popup. Edit an area Select the row's edit control on an existing non-default area, change Name or Description, and select Save in the popup. Remove an area For an existing non-default area, select Delete in the row menu.
The product treats a default area as protected: it does not allow that area to be edited or deleted. The area actions use the common success and error messages listed in the save procedure.
Result: The eligible area is added, updated, or removed from the Areas grid.
Choose an inventory model and review history
The inventory model describes how the warehouse handles storage and assembly. Modification history shows the record's prior changes.
Prerequisites
- Open a saved warehouse record.
- Have edit permission before changing the inventory model.
Steps

Select Inventory Model.

Select the option that matches the warehouse:

Select Save in the Inventory Model surface.

Select Last Modifications.

Select Registration when a history entry is available.
The inventory-model save is separate from the main warehouse-details save.
Result: The selected inventory model is saved separately, or the modification history is open.
When an action is unavailable or fails
Use the message text to identify whether the form needs a value, the request failed, or the record cannot be changed.

Continue after reviewing the warehouse
After reviewing or maintaining the configuration, continue with the task that uses the warehouse. The Warehouse list returns you to the available warehouses. Use New warehouse when you need a separate warehouse record. Follow the Warehouse fulfillment flow for operational warehouse work.
