Company features

Company features lets you review the limits and feature assignments used by your company plans. The feature matrix is the table that compares those limits and assignments. Use this page when you need to compare plan limits, change which features a plan includes, or adjust a feature price.

Review the plan limits and feature matrix before making a change

Before you start

Before you review or change the matrix, open a saved plan record with its plan and feature lists loaded. The page builds one plan column for each plan in the loaded list, so the columns you see depend on the plans available to your company.

Prerequisites

  • You have access to the company features page.
  • The plan table is visible.
  • The feature list is available when you need to assign a feature.

The page uses the loaded plan data to populate the plan columns and the feature list to populate the feature matrix. Work from the headers and rows currently shown on screen.

Find the company features page

Open the company features page to review plan limits and feature assignments for a company.

Prerequisites

  • You know the company record whose plans you need to review.

Steps

  1. Open /configuration/features.
  2. Confirm that the All plans and Plans breadcrumb context is shown.
  3. Select Companies when you need to return to the company list.

Result: The company features screen is open. You can read the plan table and feature matrix when their lists have loaded.

Read the plan and feature tables

The plan table describes the limits configured for each plan, and the feature matrix shows which features are assigned to those plans. The screen currently shows the plan fields and the feature-grid headers below.

Plan fields

The Dashboard widgets count field is disabled. Its value is recalculated from the dashboard-widget features assigned to the plan.

Note: Review the assigned dashboard-widget features when the Dashboard widgets count value needs to change.

Feature matrix

The feature matrix uses the following headers. Feature, Id, and Price are fixed headers. The plan columns are variable: their labels and number come from the plans loaded for the company.

HeaderWhat you use it for
FeatureIdentify the feature row.
IdIdentify the feature's numeric record.
PriceReview the feature's unit price.
Plan columnsReview or change the feature assignment for each displayed plan.

The plan headers come from the plans available in the loaded list, so their labels and number vary with the loaded plans. The feature matrix is shown when the feature list contains items.

Feature-selection cells use an icon rather than a text label. Select the icon in the plan column to change that feature's assignment. Rows with child features can also show Select all sub.

Maintain feature assignments and prices

Use this procedure to adjust an existing plan's feature assignments or to change a feature's unit price. The popup Save handles the edited feature price. The page Save handles feature-assignment changes.

Prerequisites

  • The plan table is visible.
  • The feature matrix is visible when you are changing an assignment or price.

Steps

  1. Choose the change you need in the table:

    If you need to…Do this
Assign or remove a featureSelect the feature-selection icon in its plan column.
Apply child featuresSelect Select all sub on the row.
Change a feature priceSelect an editable cell in the feature row.
  2. If you are changing a feature price, enter the new non-negative amount in the Edit feature popup.

  3. If you are changing a feature price, select Save in the popup.

  4. If you changed a feature assignment, select the page Save button.

Result: A price-only change is handled by the popup Save. An assignment change is handled by the page Save.

Apply child features from a parent-feature row

Handle parent features and unavailable actions

A parent feature groups child features beneath it. When the row has child features, Select all sub appears beside the feature-selection control and applies the child features to the plan.

The number of plan columns varies with the plans loaded for the company. Use the plan headers currently displayed rather than assuming a fixed column count.

Plan and feature creation or deletion are outside this page. For plan record maintenance, go to Plan details.

When saving or validating goes wrong
