Enable Product Flow Capture

page
4 min readUpdated

Product Flow Capture collects information about how users move through your product within a selected project. Use it when you need to document, review, or maintain the product flows associated with a project.

Overview

Product Flow Capture is managed from the project area in Atloria. You begin from the Projects hub, open the project you want to work with, and use Capture to start collecting the project’s product-flow information.

Capturing is project-specific. Before you select Capture, make sure you have opened the correct project. This helps ensure that the information collected belongs to the intended product and does not affect another project in your workspace.

If you need to collect the information again after the product changes, use Recapture. The project also provides Bulk Recapture when you need to refresh captured information across a broader set of items.

Prerequisites

Before you enable Product Flow Capture, make sure you have the following:

  • Access to the Atloria Projects area.
  • An existing project listed in Projects.
  • The correct project selected for the product flow you want to collect.
  • Permission to work with the project and start a capture.
  • A clear understanding of whether you need a first-time capture, a single refresh using Recapture, or a broader refresh using Bulk Recapture.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Select Projects to open the hub that lists all available projects.

  2. Use the Search projects... field to find the project if it is not immediately visible.

  3. Select the project you want to configure for product-flow collection.

  4. Select Open Project Dashboard to open the focused project workspace.

  5. Confirm that the project dashboard belongs to the product whose flows you want to capture.

  6. Select Capture to enable and begin collection of product-flow information for the project.

  7. Wait for the capture to complete before leaving the project dashboard.

  8. Review the captured project information in the project workspace to confirm that the collection was completed for the correct project.

  1. Select Recapture when you need to collect the product-flow information again after product changes.

  2. Select Bulk Recapture when you need to refresh captured information for multiple applicable items rather than starting an individual recapture.

  3. Select ← Back to Projects or ← Back to Projects when you are finished working in the project and want to return to the project list.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Start with Capture for a project that has not yet had its product-flow information collected. Use Recapture only when you need to refresh existing captured information.

  • Verify the active project before selecting Capture. The Projects hub contains multiple projects, and capture activity should be performed only from the intended focused project.

  • Use Search across all projects... when you need to locate content or context across the workspace. Use Search projects... when your immediate goal is to find and open a particular project.

  • Prefer Recapture after targeted product updates. For example, use it after changes to screens, navigation, or user journeys that may affect an existing product flow.

  • Use Bulk Recapture carefully. It is most useful when a larger update affects several applicable items and you need to refresh their collected information together.

  • Do not use Delete Project as part of the capture process. Deleting a project removes the project rather than enabling or refreshing its product-flow collection.

  • If you are setting up a project for the first time, select New Project and then Create project before returning to the project dashboard to use Capture.

Troubleshooting

You cannot find the project to capture

  1. Select Projects to return to the project hub.

  2. Enter the project name in Search projects....

  3. Select the matching project.

  4. Select Open Project Dashboard.

If the project is not listed, create it first using New Project and Create project.

You selected Capture for the wrong project

  1. Select ← Back to Projects or ← Back to Projects.

  2. Locate the correct project using Search projects....

  3. Select the correct project.

  4. Select Open Project Dashboard.

  5. Select Capture in the correct project workspace.

Existing product-flow information needs to be updated

  1. Open the affected project from Projects.

  2. Select Open Project Dashboard.

  3. Select Recapture to refresh the captured information.

  4. Select Bulk Recapture instead if you need to refresh multiple applicable items as part of a wider update.
