*Awaiting Inspection*

## Overview

Use the Awaiting Inspection list to review warehouse stock records that require inspection before further handling. Warehouse and inventory users can use the list to locate records by sales job, product description, area, position, purchase orders, received quantity, or account. Use search, filters, layouts, and exports to focus the list on the records relevant to your current inspection workload.

## Workflow

1. Open **Warehouse** from the main navigation, then open the Awaiting Inspection list.

Review the available list columns, including **Sales job no.**, **Product Description**, **Area**, **Position**, **P.O.s**, **Received Qty**, and **Acc**. Use these values to identify the stock records that require your attention.

   > **Tip:** Start with the sales job number or product description when you need to locate an item received for a specific job.

2. Decide whether you need to locate a specific record or review the complete queue.

   - To locate a record, enter a keyword in **Search**. Use a sales job number, product description, area, position, purchase order reference, or account value that appears in the list.
   - To refine the displayed records, select **Apply filter** and apply the required filter criteria.
   - To return to a broader view, remove or revise the search or filter criteria, then apply the updated filter.

   > **Note:** Search and filters affect the records currently displayed in the list. Review the resulting columns before acting on a record.

3. Decide whether the current list layout contains the information needed for inspection planning.

   - Select **Columns Chooser** to select the columns you need to see.
   - To use the default arrangement, select **Standard Layout**.
   - To create a reusable arrangement, select **Add Layout**, enter a **Layout name**, and select **Save**.
   - To revise the layout currently in use, make the required changes and select **Update Current**.
   - To abandon unsaved layout changes, select **Cancel**.

   > **Warning:** Select **Delete Current** only when you intend to remove the active saved layout. This action is different from **Delete**, which is also available on the list.

4. Decide whether the filtered inspection queue must be shared or reviewed outside the application.

Select **Export** to export the records currently shown in the list. Before exporting, confirm that the search, filter, and selected columns show the required inspection information.

5. Continue monitoring the Awaiting Inspection list as records are received and inspection work is planned. Use **Goods Receipt** for receipt-related work and **Stock (By Shipment)** or **Stock (By Product)** when you need to review stock through those warehouse views.

## Examples

A warehouse manager needs to prepare the inspection workload for sales job `SJ-10482`.

1. Open the Awaiting Inspection list from **Warehouse**.
2. In **Search**, enter `SJ-10482` to limit the list to records for that sales job.
3. Review **Product Description**, **Area**, **Position**, **P.O.s**, and **Received Qty** to identify the received items and their warehouse locations.
4. Select **Columns Chooser** and ensure the sales job, product, position, purchase order, and received quantity information is visible.
5. Select **Add Layout**, enter `Inspection Planning` as the **Layout name**, and select **Save** so the same review layout can be reused.
6. Select **Export** to produce a copy of the currently displayed inspection queue for the planned inspection work.

## Tips

> **Tip:** Use a saved layout when the same team regularly reviews the same combination of warehouse columns.

> **Note:** Select **Standard Layout** when a saved or edited layout no longer provides a useful view of the inspection queue.

> **Warning:** Check the active search and filter before exporting. The export reflects the records currently displayed.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The required stock record is not visible. | The current search or filter is too restrictive. | Clear or revise **Search**, then use **Apply filter** with broader criteria. |
| Important warehouse information is missing from the list. | The active layout does not include the required column. | Select **Columns Chooser** and add the needed columns, or select **Standard Layout**. |
| Layout changes are not retained. | The changes were not saved or the current layout was not updated. | Select **Save** when creating a layout, or select **Update Current** when revising the active layout. |
| An export contains unexpected records or columns. | The displayed list was not checked before export. | Review the active search, filters, and visible columns, then select **Export** again. |
