## Overview

Regret Reasons are the standardized reasons used to describe why a sales opportunity, request, or commercial engagement was regretted. Sales representatives, account managers, and project-related users use this list to find and maintain consistent reason names, supporting clearer reporting and follow-up decisions.

Use this page when you need to review the existing regret-reason list, locate a particular reason, begin creating a new reason, or export the displayed list.

## Settings

Open the Regret Reasons configuration list from **Configurations** > **General Settings** > **Regret Reasons**.

If the system displays the sign-in fields, enter your **Enter User Name** and **Enter Password**, then select **Login**. These fields control access to the Regret Reasons screen.

> **Note:** Keep user credentials confidential. If you cannot sign in, contact the person responsible for system access rather than sharing another user's password.

The page provides the following list-management controls:

| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| **Search** | Enter search text to locate a regret reason. |
| **Apply filter** | Apply the current search or filtering criteria to the displayed list. |
| **New** | Start creating a new regret reason. |
| **icn-update** | Run the available update action for the selected or current list context. |
| **Export** | Export the displayed regret-reason information. |
| **Cancel** | Cancel the current action. |
| **Ok** | Confirm the current action or message when it is available. |
| **Tickets** | Open the available tickets-related action from this screen. |
| **Attach** | Open the available attachment action from this screen. |
| **Settings (icn icn-settings)** | Open the available settings action for the page. |

> **Tip:** Use short, distinct reason names. A consistent list makes it easier for users to select the correct reason and for management to compare regret patterns.

## Workflow

1. Open **Regret Reasons** from **Configurations** > **General Settings** > **Regret Reasons**. If prompted, enter **Enter User Name** and **Enter Password**, then select **Login**.

2. Decide whether you need to find an existing reason or begin a new one.

   - To find an existing reason, enter a relevant word or phrase in **Search** and select **Apply filter**.
   - To review all available reasons again, clear the search value and select **Apply filter**.
   - To start a new regret reason, select **New**.

The list contains reason records used to classify regretted commercial activity, such as reasons related to customer suitability, workload, or service range.

3. When reviewing a filtered result, decide whether the displayed reason is suitable for your purpose.

   - If it is suitable, retain the existing standardized reason and use it consistently in the applicable business process.
   - If it is not suitable, select **New** to start a new regret-reason record.
   - If you do not want to continue with the current action, select **Cancel**.

   > **Warning:** Do not create near-duplicate reason names. Similar entries can fragment reporting and make regret analysis less reliable.

4. When you begin a new record with **New**, enter the required information in the new-record view that opens. The provided screen information does not identify the fields or final save action available in that view. Confirm the record only with the confirmation control presented by the system, such as **Ok**, when applicable.

5. Decide whether you need to share or retain the current list outside the screen.

   - Select **Export** to export the displayed regret-reason information.
   - Use **Attach** when an attachment action is required from the current screen context.
   - Use **Tickets** when the relevant tickets action is available.
   - Select **icn-update** only when you need to run the update action exposed by the page.

6. Verify the result by searching for the reason name in **Search** and selecting **Apply filter**. If the reason appears in the list, it is available as part of the Regret Reasons configuration list.

## Examples

A sales representative needs to check whether a reason already exists for a customer request that cannot be served because the requested location is outside the company’s operating range.

1. Open **Regret Reasons** from **Configurations** > **General Settings** > **Regret Reasons**.

2. In **Search**, enter `range`.

3. Select **Apply filter** to review matching regret reasons.

4. If an existing reason clearly describes the situation, use that existing standardized reason rather than creating another similar entry.

5. If no suitable reason is listed, select **New** to begin creating a new regret reason. Complete the information required by the new-record view and confirm it using the confirmation control made available by the system.

6. Return to the list, enter the new reason name in **Search**, and select **Apply filter** to confirm that it is available in the Regret Reasons list.

## Tips

> **Tip:** Search before selecting **New**. This helps prevent duplicate or overlapping regret reasons.

> **Note:** Export after applying a filter when you need a focused list of specific regret reasons rather than the full list.

> **Warning:** Use regret reasons for their intended commercial classification purpose. Avoid using a reason name to store customer notes, project details, or internal commentary.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot access the Regret Reasons page. | The screen requires sign-in details. | Enter valid values in **Enter User Name** and **Enter Password**, then select **Login**. |
| The required reason does not appear in the list. | A search or filter may be restricting the displayed records. | Clear or revise **Search**, then select **Apply filter**. |
| You are unsure whether to create a new reason. | A similar standardized reason may already exist. | Search using related keywords and review the filtered results before selecting **New**. |
| You no longer want to continue with the current action. | A create, update, or other screen action is still in progress. | Select **Cancel** where it is available. |
