## Overview

Use the Product configuration page to add a Product record to the business operations platform. Administrators configure Products before they can be used in sales, purchasing, warehouse, project, and finance processes. Create a Product when a new item or service requires a centrally maintained Product record.

## Steps

1. Navigate to **Add new > Product > Product**.

2. Enter the required Product information in the Product form. Complete all required fields before saving the record.

3. Select **Save** to validate and create the Product record.

4. Select **Save and Close** when you want to save the Product record and leave the Product page.

## Tips & cautions

> **Warning:** The system validates the Product form before saving. A Product record cannot be saved while required information is missing.

> **Note:** If you leave the Product page with unsaved changes, the system displays a warning before you exit.

> **Tip:** Use **Products List** to return to the list of configured Product records.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Product record does not save. | One or more required fields are missing. | Complete all required information, then select **Save**. |
| A warning appears when leaving the Product page. | The Product record contains unsaved changes. | Save the Product record using **Save** or **Save and Close** before leaving the page. |
| The new Product is not visible after creation. | The Product record was not saved successfully. | Return to the Product page, complete the required information, and select **Save**. |

## Result

A Product record is created after the form passes validation and is saved successfully.
