## Overview

The **Process** area in Sales Jobs is used to access and work with sales job inquiries and their related task-stage records. Sales representatives, account managers, project managers, and purchasing staff can use it when they need to review an inquiry, select an available record, save changes, or close the working session. The available actions also provide access to leads, inquiries, tickets, and attachments associated with the work being handled.

## Workflow

1. Open **Sales** from the application workflow controls, then navigate to **Add new > Sales Jobs > Process**.

The Process screen opens at the Inquiry login prompt. Enter your access details before working with inquiry records.

2. Decide whether to continue with access or exit the screen.

   - To continue, enter your user name in **Enter User Name** and your password in **Enter Password**.
   - Select **Login** to submit the entered credentials.
   - Select **Cancel** if you do not want to continue.

   > **Note**
   >
   > Use **Cancel** rather than leaving partially entered login information on the screen.

3. Decide which sales-job information you need to work with after access is available.

   - Select **Lead** to work with lead-related information.
   - Select **Inquiry** to work with inquiry-related information.
   - Select **Tickets** to access ticket-related information.
   - Select **Attach** to access attachments.
   - Use **Select...** or **Select** when you need to choose an available item.

4. Review the selected inquiry or task information and decide whether to retain your changes.

   - Select **Save** to keep the current work and remain in the screen.
   - Select **Save and Close** to keep the current work and close the current screen.
   - Select **Delete** only when the current item should be removed.
   - Use **Ok** to confirm an action when confirmation is requested.

   > **Warning**
   >
   > Select **Delete** only after confirming that you are working with the correct item. The screen provides a deletion action, but no recovery action is shown.

5. Return to the task-stage records when you need to review quantities or continue working on the sales job.

The Process screen includes the **Task** stage tab. This stage displays task-related records, including product quantity information expressed in pieces.

## Task

The **Task** stage contains task-related sales-job records. The visible records include product quantity information, such as a quantity measured in pieces. Use this stage to review the task record currently available in the inquiry process and to identify the item that requires further work.

No action is provided that explicitly moves a record into or out of the Task stage. Use the available **Select** or **Select...** actions to choose an item when selection is required, and use **Save** or **Save and Close** after updating the work.

## Examples

A sales representative needs to review a sales job inquiry that includes a task for one product item.

1. The representative opens **Sales**, then navigates to **Add new > Sales Jobs > Process**.

2. On the Inquiry login prompt, the representative enters their account name in **Enter User Name** and their password in **Enter Password**, then selects **Login**.

3. After access is available, the representative selects **Inquiry** to work with the sales-job inquiry. If more than one item is available, they use **Select...** and then **Select** to choose the required item.

4. The representative opens the **Task** tab and reviews the task-stage record. The record shows a product quantity in pieces, allowing the representative to confirm that the inquiry contains the expected item quantity.

5. The representative checks whether supporting information is needed:
   - Select **Attach** when an attachment must be accessed.
   - Select **Tickets** when ticket-related information must be reviewed.
   - Select **Lead** when lead-related information is required.

6. After completing the review, the representative selects **Save and Close** to retain the work and close the screen. If further review is required, they select **Save** instead and remain in the Process screen.

> **Tip**
>
> Use **Save** when you need to continue reviewing the inquiry, task information, tickets, or attachments. Use **Save and Close** only when the current work is complete.

## Tips

> **Tip**
>
> Use the **Task** tab to review task-stage records and the product quantity information shown for each record.

> **Note**
>
> The Process screen provides separate actions for **Lead**, **Inquiry**, **Tickets**, and **Attach**. Choose the action that matches the information you need rather than treating all sales-job information as a single record type.

> **Warning**
>
> Before selecting **Save and Close**, confirm that you have completed the required review. Closing the screen ends the current working session.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot proceed from the Inquiry prompt. | The required login details have not been entered or accepted. | Complete **Enter User Name** and **Enter Password**, then select **Login**. |
| You selected the wrong item. | An incorrect record was chosen through the selection controls. | Use **Select...** or **Select** again to choose the intended item before saving. |
| You need to continue working after saving. | **Save and Close** was selected instead of **Save**. | Reopen **Add new > Sales Jobs > Process**, access the required inquiry, and use **Save** while further work remains. |
| You cannot find task-related quantity information. | You are not viewing the task stage. | Open the **Task** tab and review the task-stage records shown there. |
