## Overview

Use the Principal Dashboard as the central starting point for day-to-day work in sales, project management, purchasing, warehouse operations, finance, tasks, activities, data, reports, and tickets. Select the relevant dashboard area when you need to move from the main workspace to the business function that supports your current work.

## Before you start

You must be signed in to use the Principal Dashboard.

## Steps

1. Select **Dashboard** to open the Principal Dashboard.

2. Select the area that matches the work you need to perform:
   - Select **Reports** to work with reports.
   - Select **My Desk** to access your personal work area.
   - Select **Sales** for sales work, including Offers and Orders.
   - Select **PM** for project management work.
   - Select **Purchasing** for purchasing work, including RFQs and Ordered requests.
   - Select **Warehouse** for warehouse stock work.
   - Select **Finance** for financial control and payment work.
   - Select **Tasks** to work with tasks.
   - Select **Activities** to work with activities.
   - Select **Data** to work with data.
   - Select **Tickets** to work with tickets.

3. Select **Select** when this action is available for the dashboard item you are working with.

## Tips & cautions

> **Tip:** Use the Principal Dashboard to begin work in the functional area that corresponds to your role and current business process.

> **Warning:** If you save a dashboard change and nothing changes afterwards, the dashboard record was not saved. The server can reject a save without displaying an error or confirmation.

## Troubleshooting

- The Principal Dashboard is unavailable → You are not signed in → Sign in, then select **Dashboard**.
- A saved dashboard change is not visible → The save may have been rejected → Treat the change as not saved if nothing changes after saving.

## Result

You have opened the Principal Dashboard and selected the business area relevant to your current work.
