# Configure Market Segments

## Overview

Market Segments are company-level classifications used to organize market areas, such as industry sectors. Administrators use the **Market Segments** configuration page when the company needs to add or maintain the available market segment classifications. Access the page from **Configurations > Company > Market Segments**.

## Before you start

Sign in to the application before opening the **Market Segments** configuration page.

## Steps

1. Navigate to **Configurations > Company > Market Segments**.

2. Review the existing market segment records to determine whether the required classification is already available.

3. To begin adding a market segment configuration, select **New**.

4. Complete the available market segment entry details and follow the controls provided on the entry form to finalize the configuration.

## Tips & cautions

> **Tip:** Use clear, consistent market segment names so that users can identify the appropriate classification when working with company data.

> **Note:** Review the existing market segment records before selecting **New** to reduce the risk of creating duplicate classifications.

## Troubleshooting

- Cannot open the **Market Segments** page → The user is not signed in → Sign in, then navigate to **Configurations > Company > Market Segments**.
- A required market segment classification is not listed → The configuration has not yet been started → Select **New** to begin adding the classification.

## Result

The **Market Segments** configuration page is open, and a new market segment configuration can be initiated.
