## Overview

Lost Reasons are configuration records that standardize the reasons recorded when an Offer leaves the normal sales path as a lost offer. Administrators maintain this list to support consistent reporting and review of unsuccessful Offers. Use this page when the organization needs to add or review the available Lost Reasons, such as pricing, delivery, or technical acceptance concerns.

## Before you start

You must be signed in to access General Settings. Ensure that you have access to **Configurations, General Settings**, and **Lost Reasons**.

## Steps

1. Navigate to **Configurations > General Settings > Lost Reasons**.

2. Review the existing Lost Reasons displayed in the list. These records represent the standardized reasons available for classifying a lost Offer.

3. To add a Lost Reason, select **New**.

4. Complete the new Lost Reason record in the form that opens, using the organization’s approved reason wording and naming conventions.

5. Return to **Lost Reasons** to verify that the required reason is available in the configuration list.

> **Tip:** Use clear, distinct reason names. For example, maintain separate reasons for delivery concerns, pricing concerns, and technical acceptance concerns when the business needs to report on them separately.

> **Note:** Lost Reasons support the Offer process when an Offer is recorded as a lost offer rather than progressing toward an Order and, ultimately, **Delivered**.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot open the Lost Reasons list. | You are not signed in or do not have access to the configuration area. | Sign in and access **Configurations > General Settings > Lost Reasons**. |
| A required reason is not available in the list. | The reason has not yet been added to the Lost Reasons configuration. | Select **New** and create the required Lost Reason. |
| Reason names are inconsistent or duplicated. | Similar business outcomes have been created with different wording. | Review the existing list before selecting **New** and use the organization’s approved terminology. |

## Result

The Lost Reasons configuration list is available for maintaining the standardized reasons used when an Offer is recorded as a lost offer.
