## Overview

Use Blogs to create or update a blog record and maintain any associated files. Sales representatives, Account Managers, and other business users can use the form when they need to save a blog-related record or attach supporting material.

The available form actions support saving the record, saving and closing it, attaching files, selecting an available option on a new record, and returning to the home page.

## Workflow

1. **Decide whether to create a new record or update an existing record.**
Use the new-record form when you need to create a Blogs record. Use the existing record form when you need to update a saved record or manage its attached files.

2. **If the new record requires a selection, choose the available option.**
On the new-record form, use **Select...** to open the available selection, then use **Select** to confirm the option shown by the form.

Do not confirm a selection unless it is appropriate for the Blogs record you are preparing.

   > **Note:** The available screens do not identify what the selection represents. Confirm the value according to your organisation’s blog-record process.

3. **Decide whether supporting material must be included.**
To add a file to the record, select **Attach** and add the required item through the **files[]** area. Use this decision point when the blog record needs supporting documentation or other related files.

   > **Tip:** Attach only files that are relevant to the record. This makes the record easier for other users to review later.

4. **Save the record or save and finish.**
Choose one of the following actions:
   - Select **Save** when you need to keep working on the record after saving it.
   - Select **Save and Close** when the record is complete and you do not need to remain on the form.

If an **Ok** confirmation is displayed, select **Ok** to acknowledge it.

5. **Decide whether to remain in Blogs or leave the form.**
When you have completed your work on an existing Blogs record, select **Go Back to Home Page** to return to the home page.

The **Tickets** action is also available on the record form. Use it only when your organisation’s process requires work with Tickets, as the available screen does not define its effect on the Blogs record.

   > **Warning:** Save the record before leaving the form. Returning to the home page is not a substitute for using **Save** or **Save and Close**.

## Examples

A Sales representative needs to create a Blogs record and retain a supporting document for later reference.

1. Open the new Blogs record form.

2. If the form requires a value in **Select...**, choose the appropriate available option and confirm it with **Select**.

3. Select **Attach** and add the supporting file, for example `Q3-Customer-Insights.pdf`, through **files[]**.

4. Select **Save** if you need to review the record or attach another file. Select **Save and Close** if the record is complete.

5. If a confirmation is shown, select **Ok**.

6. When no further work is required, use **Go Back to Home Page** from the saved record form.

The result is a saved Blogs record with its related file retained in **files[]**.

## Tips

> **Tip:** Use **Save** while you are still reviewing the record. Use **Save and Close** when no additional changes are required.

> **Note:** Use **Attach** for files that belong with the specific Blogs record rather than keeping supporting material separately.

> **Warning:** Do not rely on **Go Back to Home Page** to save changes. Save the record explicitly before leaving the form.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot complete the new record as expected. | A value may still need to be chosen in **Select...**. | Open **Select...**, choose the applicable available option, and confirm it with **Select**. |
| The required supporting document is not shown on the record. | The file has not been added through **Attach** or has not been saved with the record. | Select **Attach**, add the file through **files[]**, then select **Save** or **Save and Close**. |
| You have finished editing but remain on the record form. | **Save** preserves the record without closing the form. | Select **Save and Close** to save the record and close the form. |
| You need to leave the current record. | The record form remains open after saving. | Save the record, then select **Go Back to Home Page**. |
