# Base of inspection ## Base of inspection Base of inspection is the reference list where you maintain the named bases used for warehouse inspection work. The **Name** field is required for this list. The controls available to you depend on your access and on the list's configuration. Prerequisites - Sign in and select **Base Of Inspection** in the warehouse configuration area. - Have the name you want to maintain ready before opening the entry form. - Check the controls shown on your screen before choosing a maintenance action. ## Find the reference list Use the page title and visible sibling labels to distinguish this list from the other warehouse configuration lists. Prerequisites - Be signed in to PAMS. Steps 1. Select **Base Of Inspection** in the warehouse configuration area. 2. Confirm that the page heading reads **Base of inspection**. 3. The shared form shows a configured text field when the entry form is open and the selected column is marked visible in the form. Prerequisites - Know the name to enter. - Confirm that **New**, **Edit**, or **Delete** is available for the action you need. Steps 1. Open the entry you need: | If you need to… | Select | |---|---| | Start a new entry | **New** | | Open an existing entry | **Edit** on the selected row | The new-entry dialog is titled **New Base of inspection**. 2. Enter the base name in **Name** when adding or changing an entry. 3. Select **Delete** on the selected row when you need to open its delete menu. 4. Read `Are you sure you want to delete this item?`. 5. Work from the controls and column headers currently visible on your screen. Prerequisites - Have the Base of inspection list open. Steps 1. Choose the action that matches the control available to you: | What you see | What to do | |---|---| | **New** | Select **New** to start an entry. | | **Edit** | Select **Edit** on the row you need to change. | | **Delete** | Select **Delete** on the row you need to remove. | | **Export** | Use the export action when it is available in the settings controls. | 2. Use the headers currently shown in the list when the configured column set differs from another user's list. **Result:** You use only the maintenance action and list columns available in your configuration. ## When maintenance does not work Use the message on screen to choose the next action. | Message | What to do | |---|---| | `\ is required` | Enter a value in the required field, such as **Name**, then try the form action again. | | `Just '_' '-' And '.' Characters Accepted` | Remove characters other than letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens, and periods from the affected value. | | `Forbidden characters detected. Please remove them and try again.` | Remove the forbidden characters from the filter value and try again. | | `Data updated Successfully` | Read the message as the response to the attempted update. | | `Data saved Successfully` | Read the message as the response to the attempted save. | | `Data Deleted Successfully` | Read the message as the response to the attempted deletion. | | `Related to Saved data, Can't be deleted` | Keep the row and remove the related saved data before trying again. | | `Failed to Delete` | Do not repeat the removal until you have checked the row and your access. | | `Must have at least one item` | Keep at least one entry in the list. | | `Data Importing completed` | Continue after the import finishes. | ## Continue with related warehouse lists The warehouse configuration area groups related reference lists together.
